ladosmag is celebrating its 3º stay year (No.0 ~ nov.2oo7, 16 issues yet!) in the complex scene of the periodical paper publishings spanish circle's. Cleverly, this celebration entails a new Art Direction, in Ritxi Ostáriz care, distinguished creative and designer. ladosmag is a free publishing.
Following this magazine, we find the exceptional work of José Ungidos, Executive Director, Amparo Fuentes and Javier Mielgo. The street work, in direct contact with the subjects of current interest (especially in Amparo and Javier care), forms and makes sense to ladosmag each issue.
We can find ladosmag in Asturias, Castilla-León, Madrid, La Rioja (Central Spain) and Barcelona, Zaragoza and Baleares Islands (Northeast Spain), regardless of the subjects exposed in each issue: "quality and importance news, no matter their location or origin" are the only points of reference as the ladosmag team work emphasize us when been asking about the magazine´s presence and distribution.
ladosmag essential aim is "the dissemination of all kinds cultural events (music, fashion, art, design), understanding each of these disciplines as a representation of the different ways of expression, and the intrinsic ability of multiple personalities. We intend to serve as a channel amplifier for maximum information diffusion in different niches, using ladosmag as a transverse tool connects and communicates these different areas -traditionally tight structure. ladosmag needs to break these archaic barriers to reach a larger readership, which sensitivity and respect by virtue of creation is, in itself, an outstanding reference."
ladosmag content published by way of interviews, almost always related, as stated above, with the environment of independent music, art, design, fashion or photography. From established artists to emerging markets, this platform greatly cares broadcast form and substance of what is presented. Info about local exhibition spaces, exposure and establishment in different cities and locations is very updated -it´s worth noting go places that review.
Ritxi Ostariz, whose contributions and graphics remarks are incorporated into ladosmag at No. 14 (made the covers of this issue), passes on to bring the Art Direction. At No. 15 begins with "a complete redesign of it, which will continue over the next numbers to get the desired line. I made the change that determines the fonts, grids, colors... The Ritxi Ostáriz's editorial work (simply navigate your website -in front of his digital work, both in web and multimedia animation, above all always exceptional projects), is motivated by a determination of style "simple, elegant, sober, solid." Ritxi has a special devotion to what he calls "eternal projects: those will remain over the years ... It may take 30 years (or 2 or 50) and the digital world is so different from current web sites that cannot be viewed on any computer ... The videos, for example, will be obsolete formats, it´ll be very difficult to play. However magazines, books and, ultimately, the paper will like some aged at most, but perfectly usable. " It seems that History proves it: a few weeks ago I visited the National Library funds, here we witness the life of the paper.
"Although I came to the editorial environment is so recent", Ritxi tells us, "and considering my professional start in this sector has been almost exclusively in the graphic design and editorial from the world of music, I think they are doing interesting things in national publications. That there is a media as No.Zines is proof that people are very concerned that this not go unnoticed. There are now real gems such as Metal, Apartamento, Tiger, New Papers... What is clear surely is that our daily editorial design is far ahead of what is being done in Europe: France, Germany, Belgium or Nederland."
