SSE Project is an independent publishing house and online gallery based in Korea, focus is on publishing Artists' Books and Zines of emerging artists from Korea.
SSE is the acronym for "special solo exhibition". It means a tongue in Korean dialect. In other words, SSE signifies an artist shows his/her works by oneself. They are a representative online gallery and independent publisher in Korea.
In their own words:
"Since we've started sse-p.com in July 2008, SSE Project selects an artist, holds his/her online exhibition and publishes. SSE Zine which has the same composition with the exhibit every month. From 2011 we´ll have a plan to broaden the range including overseas artists not limited to Korea.
This coming October, the contemporary art book, DODOS vol. 2 which contains works of artists throughout the world and PIPIS vol. 1 limited to women artists will be issued. Furthermore, the third offline special exhibition entitled "Troublemaker 2010: The End of the World" and the concept book withsame title are being prepared".
